2-3 April | Kathmandu, Bagmati Province – Stakeholders from all three levels of the Government participated in a two-day workshop organized by the Family Welfare Division (FWD), Department of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Population, to develop the National Immunization Strategy (NIS) 2030. The NIS 2030 will be guided by national policies, guidelines, and strategies including Nepal Health Sector Strategy 2030. After reviewing the key strengths and challenges of the last Comprehensive Multi-Year Plan (2017-2021) and the situation analysis of the National Immunization Program, participants identified strategic priorities for NIS aligned with South-East Asia Regional Vaccine Action Plan 2022-2030 and the Immunization Agenda 2030. Participants also developed strategies to achieve set objectives, and discussed the monitoring and evaluation framework, financial implications, and roles and responsibilities of all levels of the government. Under FWD leadership, WHO will now follow up with relevant stakeholders on the costing and finalization of the strategy.
