Databases with a focus on health R&D

This section of the Global Observatory on Health R&D provides a brief description and links to online databases or sources of information on health R&D that have a global scope. It includes, but is not limited to, data sources currently used by the Observatory in its analyses.
For convenience, sources are organized according to the following three categories: inputs to R&D; processes for R&D; outputs of R&D. A fourth, cross-cutting category is used to cover those sources that fit into more than one of the above categories.
Additional sources will be added as relevant.
Inputs to R&D
Inputs into R&D refers to the resources needed to undertake R&D. Examples include funding and human resources. The following sections provide information on databases and information sources covering 3 different areas.
Outputs of R&D
Outputs of R&D include tangible products of the R&D process such as publications and registered health products.
Processes for R&D
Processes for R&D are activities in between inputs for and outputs of undertaking R&D that allows tracking what is being done by whom, on what, how. Examples include clinical trials registration, patents registration etc.
Cross-cutting information
Examples include country R&D platforms and other relevant databases to R&D tracking.
