- The business and retail sector can help to create an environment that improves people’s health including to:
- Be supportive of policies to improve the health and well-being of all
- Offer decent work
- Promote the health of employees and their families
- Give information to employees on the benefits that come with the job such as parental and family leave
- Avoid practices and products that are not good for people’s health, such as tobacco
- If products are bad for health, sellers should give clear advice and warnings
- Come up with new technologies, such as innovations to help a country to improve health
- An example is to switch to clean energy sources and to build sustainable cities
