The Pacific Health Ministers Meeting (PHMM) was first convened in 1995, resulting in the adoption of the Healthy Islands vision to guide health protection and promotion in the Pacific. This vision has laid the foundation for subsequent PHMMs, with meetings providing an opportunity to strengthen and continue strategic dialogue that prioritizes collective actions and political commitments towards a healthier Pacific.
The 16th Pacific Health Ministers Meeting will be held in Samoa and we will update this page with more information as it becomes available.
With 2025 marking the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Healthy Islands vision, a special event will be held on the 25th of October 2025 for Pacific island countries and areas to review progress, celebrate success, and shape a renewed approach that is future-focused and aligned with the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, endorsed by Pacific Islands Forum Leaders in 2022.
