The Universal Health Coverage (UHC) unit supports the Member States in advancing UHC and sustainable development goals through coordinated cross-cutting policy and strategic advice that underpin collaboration, systems approach, and innovation.
This is accomplished by:
- developing pragmatic tools, technical guidance, and strategic approaches that facilitate transformative health systems actions and reforms for UHC;
- strengthening knowledge, evidence, and communication to inform actions and investments towards UHC; and
- providing robust platforms and mechanisms for advocacy and joint works to expand collaboration with Member States, partners and experts.

Universal health coverage : moving towards better health : action framework for the Western Pacific Region
Universal Health Coverage: Moving Towards Better Health is an action framework that has been developed to support countries in realizing this vision of better health through UHC. It outlines shared principles of UHC and reflects the values of the World Health Organization (WHO) Constitution, the Health for All agenda set by the Alma-Ata Declaration in 1978 and multiple World Health Assembly resolutions.
Our work
