  • The Research, Ethics and Innovation (REI) unit aims to leverage advances in technological and progresses in social innovation to promote health equity in the Western Pacific Region.
  • This is accomplished by employing different research methodologies to promote the uptake of evidence-based solutions, using sandbox to uncover new approaches for addressing problems, and facilitating the development of regional ecosystems and networks that offer a comprehensive library of resources to Member States in their innovation journey.
  • This will eventually lead to strengthened capacity of Member States to create enabling ecosystems and leverage health innovations to solve problems, accelerate impact, and shape the future of health and well-being.

As the secretariat of the Regional Ethics Review Committee, REI oversees the ethics review of scientific research WPRO is involved with.
