The Healthy Ageing (AGE) unit supports Member States in the Western Pacific Region to respond to population ageing through integrated, people centred and sustainable approaches that enable people to live longer lives in good health and well being across the life course.

AGE advances regional priorities on healthy ageing, including through implementation of the Regional Action Plan on Healthy Ageing in the Western Pacific, by supporting the development and strengthening of policies, services, evidence and community action. Through this work, AGE contributes to the transformation of health and social systems and to the creation of age friendly environments that enable older people, now and in the future, to age in place, maintaining functional ability, dignity and social participation.

AGE works in close collaboration with WHO country offices, headquarters and regional and national partners to support country implementation, shared learning and system responses to demographic change across diverse country contexts in the Region.
