The Fifth Pacific Health Ministers Meeting was held in Nuku’alofa, Tonga on 9–13 March 2003. The meeting was hosted by the Government of Tonga with support from WHO and the Pacific Community (SPC).
The meeting provided an opportunity for health ministers to focus on the overall theme of healthy lifestyles and supportive environments towards the Healthy Islands vision. The health ministers also discussed other major health issues in the Pacific: mental health, environmental health, HIV/AIDS and surveillance.
