The Global Observatory on Health R&D includes estimates of the number of health researchers per country which are collected from the results of national surveys reported to the UNESCO Institute of Statistics (UIS).
WHED is the International Association of Universities' (IAU) online reference tool that provides comprehensive, up-to-date and detailed information on global higher education systems and more than 18,400 education institutions in 196 countries and territories around the world. For institutions under Health Sciences there is information about an institution's history, level of study, students and academic staff numbers. The IAU/UNESCO Information Centre updates the database in collaboration with UNESCO on an ongoing basis, focusing each year on one specific region or geographical area.
This CUGH database is a publicly searchable, online database that provides information about its 180 members around the world. Academic Global Health Programs can be searched by programme type, academic institution, and programme discipline and links are provided to programme and institution web sites.
The World Directory of Medical Schools is a free, searchable directory of the world's undergraduate (basic) medical education programs. Currently it contains information for over 2,900 schools, both operational and historical. Each record highlights available school details including start year, school type, operational status, programme details and contact information. The World Directory is a joint venture of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER).
FAIMER has also developed directories for both Masters and PhD medical education around the world.
