Data Sculpture | 2057

What if we could all understand our community’s, country’s and planet’s health?

Technology and innovation for future health equity  |  Healthier people throughout the life course

This Data Sculpture uses Augmented Reality (AR) technology to bring health data to life with animated visualizations. Statistics from the WHO Life Accelerator Index highlight global health trends and efforts to combat diseases, including the success of methods to mitigate antimicrobial resistance.

Health Statistics | 1979

Health statistics from 1979, printed on old paper, represent the WPRO databank for economic, social and health indicators in the Western Pacific Region.

Seo-Yeon walks by a designated health information point. She taps the arm of her sunglasses, activating the AR feature to reveal the surfaces of a nearby object animated with colourful patterns and dynamic data visualizations. The animations show statistics from the WHO Life Accelerator Index, highlighting global health trends and efforts to combat NCDs. Seo-Yeon watches as the data pulses and shifts, painting a picture of global health progress. The visualizations emphasize the importance of managing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through improved diagnostics, surveillance, and antimicrobial stewardship programs. Seo-Yeon is impressed by the data, which shows how integrating AMR management into health systems strengthens efforts against disease, ensuring better health outcomes for future generations.
